Privacy Notice

How Ampus collects, uses and protects personal data, written in plain English, because a privacy notice nobody can read protects nobody.

Last updated: 10 August 2026

Who we are

Ampus Ltd (“Ampus”, “we”, “us”) is a business and marketing consultancy based in London and operating across the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

Ampus Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 17072335. Our registered office is 320 Firecrest Court, Warrington WA1 1RG, which is our accountant’s address and not a place of business.

If you have any question about this notice, or you want to exercise any of the rights set out below, use the contact form or write to Ampus Ltd at the registered office address above.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you and to run our business:

  • Enquiry details: your name, email address, company name and whatever you choose to tell us in a message or on a call.
  • Client records: contact details, correspondence, project documentation and billing information for organisations we work with.
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic browser information, recorded in our web server logs as a normal part of serving the site securely.

We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on this website, and we do not buy personal data from third parties.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
  • To deliver our services: performance of our contract with you.
  • To meet legal and tax obligations: compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To keep our site secure: our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.

If we ever want to send you marketing you have not asked for, we will ask your permission first, and every message will carry a one-click unsubscribe.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for seven years after our last piece of work together, which is the period we need for tax and professional-liability purposes. Server logs are rotated regularly.

Who we share it with

We never sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate: our website host, email provider, accounting software and, where relevant, professional advisers. Each is bound by contract to protect it and to use it only on our instructions.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • delete it, where we have no continuing reason to keep it
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • transfer it to another provider in a portable format

Use the contact form, or write to us at the registered office, and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Changes to this notice

We update this notice when our practices change. The date at the top always tells you which version you are reading.
